Long before he was known as "Old Man Winter," Jack Frost was a bull-headed twerp who hated the idea of working with other mystical figures, especially ones with long fluffy, bunny ears. At least, that's what we are led to believe after watching this entertaining extended preview for "Rise of the Guardians," the upcoming animated flick that paints the Winter-folklore legend as a young cocky conjurer (voiced by Chris Pine) who gets recruited by an Avengers-like superhero team governed by a beefy, Russian-accented Santa Claus (Alec Baldwin). Their mission is to save the world from a dream-destroying villain known as Pitch (Jude Law). Of course, Frost will first need to learn how to get along with his teammates, The Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman) and The Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher).
Based on William Joyce's acclaimed children's book series, the movie was directed by former storyboard artist Peter Ramsey, and exec produced by Guillermo Del Toro. Expect the magic to begin when "Guardians" hits theaters a week before Thanksgiving, November 21st.
RISE OF THE GUARDIANS is an epic adventure that tells the story of a group of heroes – each with extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world.
Rise of the Guardians stars Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher and Jude Law
