Bay Says "I Over Reacted" Over HD-DVD News

"Transformers" Director Michael Bay apologized for his recent rant over the dissatisfaction of Paramount Pictures' recent announcement that the studio would be choosing the HD-DVD over the Blu-Ray format. "I over reacted," writes Mr. Bay on his official website. "I heard where Paramount is coming from and the future of HD and players that will be close to the $200 mark which is the magic number. I like what I heard." So I think I might be back on to do Transformers 2! What sparked his expression of anger? "Last night at dinner I was having dinner with three Blu-Ray owners," describes Mr. Bay, "they were pissed about no Transformers Blu-Ray and I drank the kool aid hook line and sinker. So at 1:30 in the morning I posted - nothing good ever comes out of early am posts mind you - I over reacted." However, he reiterates his standing from his previous statement, that "As a director, I'm all about people seeing films in the best quality possible, and I saw and heard firsthand people upset about [the next-gen format] corporate decision." And what about Mr. Bay's potential to returning to "Transformers"? "So I think I might be back on to do Transformers 2," excitedly wrote the director.

at first i said wow, finaly a guy who says what he means and then he overreacted. money rules the world after all. i am pissed of that decision. i mean why bring out 10 different players and then just support one? whats with that? do i have to buy blueray for sony, hd for paramount and next year you... read more |

Heh, I find this hilarious. I'm sure he DOES have to answer to SOMEone, but it's a matter of who. It's not like he's indisposable!! |

I doubt he got yelled at cause he doesnt have to answer to anyone. What probably happened was people just talked sense into him or explained how dumb he was. Also a lot of movie roles would just pass him by if he boycotts Paramount. |

Sounds like he got yelled at by some studio execs. Still, he's not exactly known for mature behavior. |
