When an earthquake cracks open the floor of Lake Victoria during the height of tourist season, millions of prehistoric man-eating piranhas are released and embark on a quest for human flesh. Realizing that the razor-toothed renegades are killing machines, the town's sheriff risks life and limb in an attempt to prevent the town's residents and her own family from becoming fish food. Kelly (Jessica Szohr) is attacked. Deputy Fallon (Ving Rhames) improvises a weapon. Derrick Jones (Jerry O'Connell) falls off his yacht.
