WB To Spend An Additional $9 Million On Visual Effects For Green Lantern

Warner Bros. will be spending an additional $9 million on it's upcoming summer tentpole Green Lantern movie in order to bring on board additional vfx houses to try an ensure the movie meets it's June 17th launch date.There is little doubt WB will make the deadline for Green Lantern, but apparently this last minute scramble to complete big-budget tentpole movies that are heavy on the special effects has become the norm in Hollywood. Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger" and Dreamworks "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" are other such films scrambling to make deadlines. According to Variety at least one vfx studio has started making it's people work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, and even went as far as to cancel the Easter Sunday holiday for it's vfx artists.
