Vampires Prove Little Challenge To Marvel's The Avengers At The Box Office

"Marvel's The Avengers" once again completely dominated the box office this weekend both domestically and internationally. This weekend the movie brought in $103.1 million domestically, easily beating it's newest competition, the Johnny Depp "Dark Shadows" remake which came in second with a estimated take of $28.8 million. Avengers has already brought in over $1 billion worldwide.

"Think Like a Man" dropped to number 3 in it's 4th week with an estimated take of $6.3 million while "The Hunger Games" continues to hang around in the Top 5, this week coming in at number 4 with an estimated take of $4.4 million.

Rounding out the Top 5 this weekend is "The Lucky One" with an estimated take of $4 million.

Right Now Avengers is ranked 11th on the all-time worldwide chart, but is expected to move into 4th place by next weekend behind Avatar, Titanic and Deathly Hallows Part 2.

The ten estimated top-producing motion pictures for the weekend, per data collected as of Sunday, May 13, 2012 include:

1. Marvel's The Avengers: $103,163,000
2. Dark Shadows: $28,805,000
3. Think Like a Man: $6,300,000
4. The Hunger Games: $4,400,000
5 The Lucky One: $4,055,000
6. The Pirates! Band of Misfits: $3,200,000
7. The Five-Year Engagement: $3,100,000
8. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: $2,650,000
9. Chimpanzee: $1,624,000
10. Girl in Progress: $1,350,000
