Madagascar 3 Wins Out Over Prometheus At The Box Office

 Dreamworks "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" managed to squeeze out a victory over the new Ridley Scott sci-fi thriller "Prometheus" by coming in at number 1 with an estimated take of $60.3 million. "Prometheus" opened up at number 2 with an estimated take of $50 million.Last week's number 1, "Snow White and the Huntsman" dropped to the number 3 spot this week with an estimated take of $23 million while "MIB 3" dropped to number 4 with an estimated take of $13.5 million. Rounding out the Top 5 this week is "Marvel's The Avengers" which brought in an estimated take of $10.8 million. The ten estimated top-producing motion pictures for the weekend, per data collected as of Sunday, June 10, 2012 include: 1. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted: $60,350,000 2. Prometheus: $50,000,000 3. Snow White and the Huntsman: $23,021,000 4. MIB 3: $13,500,000 5 Marvel's The Avengers: $10,809,000 6. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: $3,235,000 7.
