Universal Hire 'Pacific Rim' Writers To Rewrite 'God Of War'
Reported by Outsiders - 11:47 AM 2012.07.11

THR is reporting that Universal has hired Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to rewrite the studio adaptation of the video game God Of War from Sony Computer Entertainment.

Executive producer David Self wrote the initial draft based upon a game that follows the battles of the Spartan warrior Kratos, who squares off against mythological beasts including Medusa, Cyclops and the Hydra in his quest to find Pandora's Box and destroy Ares, the god of war. The first installment of the game was released in 2005 and was created by David Jaffe and Shannon Studstill.

Melton and Dunston made their names writing four installments of the Saw horror franchise. Their current project was writing and working with Guillermo del Toro on Pacific Rim.
