Will Nimoy Return To Trek?!?
Reported by Jay Cochran - 11:14 PM 2006.09.04

The World Entertainment News Network reports that STAR TREK star LEONARD NIMOY insists he has no plans to return to acting and has long since turned his attention toward photography. The star, who played MR SPOCK on the classic series, is satisfied with his long and varied acting career and is happy to leave that part of his life in the past.

Nimoy claims he quit acting because, "That's not how I want to spend my time. I had far more of it than I ever dreamed I would. "I had great challenges, worked with great people, and I got to do Broadway, so I had more than my share. I'm a very satisfied person. "There were times in my life when I thought I might become a professional photographer...and now I have turned my energy toward fine art photography. "This is my creative outlet now. Some of my work is in various museums around the country and around the world. I'm having a good time with it."

However according to the website Jam Movies, the head of production at Paramount contacted Nimoy about the upcoming 11th Star Trek feature film that will be directed by J.J. Abrams and is rumored to deal with the first meeting of a young Spock and James T. Kirk at Starfleet Academy. This is what Nimoy is quoted as saying about the call from Paramount:

"The head of production at Paramount called my agency to tell them about this project and they are aware of Bill's and my contribution to the franchise, and they'd like us to know they might want some involvement. It was all very, very general

"They might possibly want Bill and I to set up the story as a flashback. But that's just conjecture on my part."
