Happy Feet Keeps Dancing At Top Of US Box Office

HAPPY FEET KEEPS DANCING AT TOP OF US BOX OFFICE Animated penguin film HAPPY FEET has retained the top spot at the US box office over the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend with takings of $37.9 million (#21 million). In second place is the new JAMES BOND film, CASINO ROYALE, which remains in second place with $31 million (#17 million). Thriller DEJA VU, which stars DENZEL WASHINGTON as a police officer bouncing back in time to try and prevent a deadly ferry explosion, led the new releases with $20.8 million (#12 million) for a third place finish. Holiday comedy DECK THE HALLS, starring MATTHEW BRODERICK and DANNY DeVITO as neighbours feuding over excessive Christmas lights, debuted in fourth place with $12 million (#7 million). Among the other new debuts, THE FOUNTAIN, a romantic fantasy starring HUGH JACKMAN and RACHEL WEISZ, had a $3.7 million (#2 million) debut to finish in the tenth spot. JACK BLACK and musical partner KYLE GASS' film TENACIOUS D IN THE PICK OF DESTINY debuted at number 11 with $3.3 million (#1.8 million).
