DreamWorks SKG and Paramount Pictures are in talks to bring back screenwriting duo of Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci for scriptwriting duties for "Transformers 2." Ehren Kruger (The Brothers Grimm) is also in talks write the screenplay alongside of the two.

While the deal has not been finalized, it is believed to be within the $5 to $7 million range. It is suggested that the reason that there are three A-listers on this job is due to Mr. Orci and Mr. Kurtzman pulling duties over at J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" film.

Director Michael Bay, producers Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo DiBonaventura, and Don Murphy are expected to return. Steven Spielberg is also set to return as executive producer, despite his turmoil with Paramount.

Mr. Kruger has apparently met with "Transformers" director Michael Bay and Hasbro president Brian Goldner. Both are said to be impressed with his knowledge of the Transformers mythology.

Mr. Orci and Mr. Kurtzman were responsible for the script duties on this summer's blockbuster "Transformers," which has grossed more than $650 million worldwide.

"Transformers 2" is set for a greenlight for June 26, 2009, according to both Box Office Mojo and E! Online.
