Larry Hama To Work On G.I.Joe Movie

As ENI reported this past summer, It was strongly hinted to at the G.I.Joe convention, that writer Larry Hama, who is famous for his work on the Marvel Comics run of G.I.Joe was asked if he would have some involvement in the upcoming G.I.Joe movie. Latino Review now reports which we have gotten confirmation on, that Hama will be working as a creative consultant for the upcoming Sommers flick.
Confirmed cast members consists of Ray Parks (Snake-Eyes), Sienna Miller (Baroness) and Rachel Nichols (Scarlett), Said Taghmaoui (Breaker), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Heavy Duty), Marlon Waynes (Ripcord), Channing Tatum (Duke) and Dennis Quaid (Hawk). Joseph Gordon-Levitt is rumored to have gotten the role of Cobra Commander. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Hasbro's Brian Goldner will produce a G.I. Joe live-action movie scheduled for release in August 7, 2009. Joining the production team along with newly-named director, Stephen Sommers, and business-partner Bob Ducsay will be scribe Stuart Beattie.

Yeah, the best thing about this news is knowing Larry'll make a nice payday for likely very little effort. |

That eases my mind a bit, glad they're including Hama. I wonder if he'll get to pull a Stan Lee and make an appearance as Tunnel Rat or something? |

Maybe he can tell them that a Wayans is NOT the right casting for Ripcord. And then they can ignore him and continue on.... |
