Bloom Not Prince of Persia?!?

A fast spreading rumor announcing Pirates of the Caribbean actor Orlando Bloom as the lead in the big budget epic Prince of Persia: Sands of Time has been shot down. The rumor started at World Entertainment News Network (WENN) and spread to every major entertainment site soon after. Bloom was supposedly the victor after beating out Disney golden boy Zac Efron for the role. Walt Disney Pictures, the helmers behind the project, reported to Comingsoon.net that Bloom was not set in the role and that no casting has been announced. The only known information so far about the film is that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell will be helming the project and it will start shooting sometime soon in the UK and Morocco. Jerry Bruckheimer will be producing. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time will hit theaters June 19, 2009. MORE movies NEWS
