The Winnipeg Sun recently posted an interview with actor Brendan Fraser who talked briefly about his role in the upcoming G.I.Joe: Rise of Cobra movie. In the interview he was quoted as saying the following:

"But don't believe the Internet, I'm not playing Gung Ho, the ragin' Cajun who looks like a refugee from the Village People.

"But I begged Bob (Ducsay, producer of both The Mummy 3 and G.I. Joe to be in it). One night in Shanghai (while shooting The Mummy 3), he was the only one with a smile on his face. He said, 'I just got the okay to do Joe from Paramount!' So the next question was -- 'Can I be in it, please, please, please!'

"So I got cast as a ranking sergeant who, believe it or not, is the great great-grandson of Rick O'Connell (Fraser's Mummy movies character).

"They gave me a cool motorcycle to ride and that's all I'm going to tell you. It's a straight-ahead cameo. Less is more."

This would seem to indicate that he will be playing the role of G.I.Joe member Rock N’ Roll who’s real name is Craig S. McConnell and was often seen riding the Joe motorcycle code named “The R.A.M." .

The cast for G.I.Joe: Rise Of Cobra includes Sienna Miller (Baroness), Said Taghmaoui (Breaker), Christopher Eccleston (Destro), Channing Tatum (Duke), Dennis Quaid (Hawk), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Heavy Duty), Marlon Waynes (Rip Cord), Rachel Nichols (Scarlett), and Ray Parks (Snake-Eyes).

Other confirmed cast members not shown are Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Cobra Commander), Arnold Vosloo (Zartan) and Karolína Isela Kurková (Cover Girl).

Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Hasbro's Brian Goldner will produce the G.I. Joe live-action movie scheduled for release in August 7, 2009. Joining the production team along with director, Stephen Sommers, and business-partner Bob Ducsay will be scribe Stuart Beattie.
