Batman usually is seen as a dark distinguished character. The fact that is not in this particular animated Batman series makes it standout. The team wanted to go left of that and go to his friendlier roots, but he’s still kick-ass and the Batman you knew as a kid. They were going for an Adam West title sequence with some balls. The team did not want to rely on the same characters you usually see in the world of Batman, so there will be no characters such as Alfred or Commissioner Gordon. The series also will have different villains such as Gentleman Ghost, Grod and Kiteman, and they want to expand his roles from mainstream villains much later on. Instead they want to bring in other aspects of the DC Universe and a whole new Batman. The art was inspired by Dick Sprangs 60’s Batman which had lots of energy, something different and fresh. The art style has a older look and feel with thick black outlining on the characters, but it’s set in a modern story line. The team was allowed to do something different and paired him up with different characters and also placed him in new environments besides Gotham. They allowed him to see different aspects of his personality through his interactions with these different characters and settings. This Batman will be fun and lighter, but he stills embodies the spirit of Batman.
