Liam Neeson In Talks To Play 'Hannibal' Smith In Upcoming A-Team Movie
Reported by Jay Cochran - 01:36 AM 2009.06.09
Actor Liam Neeson is in negotiations to take on the role of John 'Hannibal Smith' in 20th Century Fox' remake of the classic 80's tv show "The A-Team." Production begins in late August for a June 11, 2010, release and the film is being directed by Joe Carnahan with Ridley Scott, Jules Daly and series-creator Stephen J. Cannell producing with Tony Scott exec producing through Scott Free. The script was done by Skip Wood who recently worked on G.I.Joe: Rise of Cobra and Wolverine. Carnahan and Brian Bloom also have worked on the script for this movie polishing it up. The original series premise of four war vets wrongly convicted of armed robbery escape from a military prison to become do-gooder mercenaries remains intact but they've replaced the campy nature of the series with a tone closer to those of "Mission: Impossible" and "Ocean's Eleven." Along with Neeson, Bradley Cooper is in early talks to play Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck and the roles of Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock and Sgt. "B.A." Baracus, which was originally played by Mr. T have yet to be filled. Source: Variety MORE movies NEWS |
