Transformers 3 Gets An Official Date: July 1, 2011

Transformers live action franchise director Michael Bay has posted on his official website message boards announcing when Transformers 3, the sequel based on Hasbro's toyline, will hit theaters. "Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012," he writes on Shoot For The Edit. He continues that "[t]oday is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters." The least part of his message includes a dig on Megan Fox, including telling her to consult her physician when working under his direction, because of some side effects. The two have had issues in the past, which were aired quite publicly. The following is his message in its entirety:
