Kurtzman & Orci Returning Will Not Return to Write Transformers 3
posted by Jay Cochran in movies at 09:23 AM on 2009.10.06

And then there was one. Roberto Orci has posted over at the Don Murphy Message Board that he and partner Alex Kurtzman will not be returning to write Transformers 3, leaving the writing duties solely to Ehren Kruger, for now.

"It's true," he posts on the message board when asked the duo's involvement with the third installment.

Mr. Kruger was one of the three writers for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

When commenting on whether Mr. Kruger knows his Transformers, Mr. Orci writes, "He does. He really did his homework. He's awesome."

The duo has previously stated that they did not want to return to Transformers 3 for the risk of "getting stale and comfortable. If you only sing one song for too long, you miss the opportunity to sing news songs."

It is unknown whether or not the Skids and Mudflap controversy surrounding Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had anything to do with these events. Mr. Kurtzman went on record saying that he "certainly wasn’t thrilled."

However, the duo has previously stated that they view Transformers 3 as just another addition to the Transformers live action franchise and not the finale. So anything could be possible.

Transformers 3 is slated to be released on July 1, 2011.
