Film Music Magazine got a chance to sit down with James Bond music composer David Arnold to talk about some of his past, present and future works, including the much anticipated on, off and on again James Bond 23 movie.
Due to financial difficulties experienced by MGM studios, there has been some question over the past year if in fact there would be another James Bond movie made. It was only recently after an article from Bloomberg emerged, stating that MGM did plan to move forward with Bond, that we got some hope that 007 wasn't dead after all. According to Bloomberg, James Bond 23 will see a release in November 2012, after the studio emerges from bankruptcy. Now thanks to Bond music composer David Arnold, we have even more evidence that a new James Bond movie is in fact in the works.
"Now that it looks like the next Bond is finally getting going, have you thought about what youíd like to do for the next score? And how do you hope Bondís character, and the series continues to evolve?
I havenít thought about it yet. We only just got the news that weíre back on. But Ďthereís many a slip twixt cup and lipí So I will keep quiet until I get a script and then start writing ideas. I just hope the next one is as good as my favorites, as I think everyone does. And Iím always interested in what Daniel Craig brings to the part. But like most things with movies, if it ainít on the page etcÖ All I can say is that Iím looking forward to a great script for it, alongside every other Bond fan in the world!"
