Gemma Arterton To Play 'Gretel' In 'Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters'

 Paramount has finally picked James Bond/Prince Of Persia actress Gemma Arterton as their Gretel for Gary Sanchez project "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters." Jeremy Renner, who has been attached for some time will play Hansel.Actresses up for the part were Diane Kruger, Eva Green and Noomi Rapace but Gemma Arterton snagged the part. "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters", a dark action movie that picks up with the fairy tale siblings years after the traumatic childhood incident has turned them into bounty hunters. Director Tommy Wirkola is hoping to begin shooting the project in Berlin on March 7 as Renner's schedule with Marvel’s "The Avengers" is just eight weeks after he does Paramount’s "Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol."
