Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson In Talks For G.I.Joe: Cobra Strikes (Updated & Confirmed)

UPDATE: Looks like Dwayne Johnson has confirmed that he will be joining the cast for G.I.Joe #2. This was just posted on his Twitter page.

Deadline reports that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who is coming off a successful role in Fast Five is in negotiations with Paramount to star in the upcoming G.I.Joe: Cobra Strikes sequel as the character known as Roadblock.
In the original G.I.Joe comics and cartoons Roadblock was a big muscular African-American who was also a gourmet chef and talked in rhymes. Other actors who are returning from the first movie include Channing Tatum (Duke), Lee Byung-hun (Storm Shadow) and Ray Park (Snake-Eyes). The sequel is being written by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick with the helm being taken over by Jon Chu. The first movie was directed by Stephen Sommers and was set to return but bowed out in January.
G.I.Joe 2 is slated to hit theaters on August 10th, 2012.
