The Men In Black Dethrone The Avengers At The Box Office

"Men In Black 3" managed to finally knock "Marvel's The Avengers" out of the number 1 spot this week by opening with an estimated take of $55 million. "Marvel's The Avengers" dropped to number 2 with an estimated take of $36.9 million while "Battleship" came in at number 3 with an estimated take of $10.8 million.

Sacha Baron Cohen's "The Dictator" came in at number 4 this week with an estimated take of $9.6 million, and the new horror flick "The Chernobyl Diaries" rounded out the Top 5 this week by opening with an estimated take of $8 million.

The ten estimated top-producing motion pictures for the weekend, per data collected as of Sunday, May 27, 2012 include:

1. MIB 3: $55,000,000
2. Marvel's The Avengers: $36,987,000
3. Battleship: $10,800,000
4. The Dictator: $9,600,000
5 Chernobyl Diaries: $8,000,000
6. Dark Shadows: $7,515,000
7. What to Expect When You're Expecting: $7,150,000
8. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel: $6,350,000
9. The Hunger Games: $2,750,000
10. Think Like a Man: $1,400,000
