Reported by Outsiders - 09:09 PM 2012.09.20

An extended first look behind-the-scenes featurette is now online for Tom Hooper's "Les Miserables," the follow up to his Oscar-winning film "The King's Speech." In the film, Hugh Jackman stars as Jean Valjean, a paroled prisoner turned successful businessman forced to go on the run after an unrelenting police inspector named Javert (Russell Crowe) threatens to throw him back in jail.

An adaptation of the legendary stage musical based on Victor Hugo's classic novel, the film also stars Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Helena Bonham Carter.

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Miserables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption -- a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Hugh Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Russell Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Anne Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
