The brand-new teaser trailer has been released for "Despicable Me 2," the 3D animated sequel to the 2010 blockbuster that featured the voice talent of Steve Carell. While Carell will be returning as Gru, the evil criminal genius-turned-good father of three adopted orphans, he's nowhere to be seen (or rather heard) in this new clip.
Instead, we see a crew of Gru's yellow-painted minions have been assigned to take care of the household -- they're tucking in Gru's baby girl for bedtime, vacuuming the entryway, and messing around with an alley cat in the backyard. But when a mysterious light from the sky sucks up a couple of fun-size lackeys, it appears an unseen villain has come to wreck havoc on Gru's family life.
We expect more details about the plot to be revealed when the movie comes closer to it's slated theatrical released date on July 3, 2013.
