It looks like Brad Pitt is stuck in the middle of a gigantic zombie outbreak. And rigour mortis be damned! These mindless biters are tipping over buses, scaling up buildings, and running around the city like rabid dogs. Watch the exciting first trailer for Pitt's upcoming horror thriller "World War Z," the film adaptation (and quite possibly a loose interpretation) of Max Brooks' best-selling book of the same name. In this version, Pitt plays Gerald Lane, a United Nations researcher that's given the unlucky assignment of leading a fact-searching investigation in the hopes of finding a cure for the zombie pandemic. Mireille Enos, from TVs The Killing, co-stars as Pitt's wife.
While the movie has been set up as a potential three-part franchise, this first installment has been plagued (no pun intended) with numerous rumors of in-house fighting between director Marc Forster and Pitt (who also serves as a producer). It seems the tension started when the production was forced to undergo a string of re-shoots and re-writes. Basically, a brand-new ending for the film was thought up by "Prometheus" scribe Damon Lindelof, written by Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) and re-shot by Forster. Can a troubled production of this size result in a great movie? Well, we'll have to wait and see when "World War Z" hits theaters next summer, June 21st.
