t's only a few months away before it hits theaters on April 12th. But today, we're getting a brand-new look at Tom Cruise's upcoming futuristic thriller "Oblivion," courtesy of this eye-popping international trailer, which showcases a few new scenes from the post-apocalyptic flick from director Joseph Kosinski (TRON: Legacy).
Set 60 years after Earth was severely damaged by a massive alien attack, Cruise plays Jack Harper, a simple "mop-up" repairman, who scans the now-abandoned planet for broken satellite drones, while doing some light security of the ravaged terrain. When a group of unknown space pods, containing human-like travelers, crash lands on Earth, Jack comes face-to-face with a mysterious woman (played by Olga Kurylenko) who may, or may not, be part of his past. Her arrival sets off a dangerous chain of events, exposing Jack to some shocking truths about his world, and putting him in the path of an underground group of human survivors led by a truth-seeking leader (played by a bad-ass looking Morgan Freeman).
The preview, which comes from the UK, offers a couple of nice glimpses of Andrea Riseborough (as Jack's shifty partner) and Melissa Leo (as their Southern-accented commander). Watch it above.
