Director James Wan, the horror maestro behind the creepy hits "Saw" and "Insidious," is going to try to scare the bejesus out of you when his new supernatural thriller "The Conjuring" hits theaters this summer. However, watching the film's newly-released trailer (posted above), he may have already succeeded by giving us a severe case of the heebie-jeebies. Yikes!
While the preview primarily features Lili Taylor in a stomach-turning game of hide-and-go seek, the 1970s-set film will trace the true story of a New England family (Taylor, and Ron Livingston) who, after discovering their farmhouse is haunted by a malicious spirit, enlists the help of famed paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga). (The Warrens are best known as the ghost sleuths who analyzed the Amityville Horror case, although this film is set before that particular investigation.)
Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, "The Conjuring" tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
The Conjuring stars Lili Taylor, Ron Livingston, Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Haley McFarland, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver, Sterling Jerins
