Pop quiz: What's the eighth wonder of the world? Well, according to this brand-new trailer for Warner Bros' upcoming comedy, the answer is surprisingly not Andre the Giant, but rather Steve Carell's dimwitted magician character, Burt Wonderstone. And it seems this Las Vegas-based illusionist is not afraid to wear sparkling velvet wardrobes, while astonishing audiences with incredible tricks. This preview actually spoofs those cheesy Vegas hotel-only commercials, inviting guests to check out one of Wonderstone's unbelievable stage shows. It also offers a silly montage, in which Burt is seen working with his loyal partner Anton Marvelton, played by the always-great Steve Buscemi. Watch it above, but be prepared to be dumbfounded by the magical powers of a man-size Rubik's cube.
Superstar magicians Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi) have ruled the Las Vegas strip for years, raking in millions with illusions as big as Burt’s growing ego. But lately the duo’s greatest deception is their public friendship, while secretly they’ve grown to loathe each other. Facing cutthroat competition from guerilla street magician Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), whose cult followingsurges with each outrageous stunt, even their show looks stale. But there’s still a chance Burt and Anton can save the act—both onstage and off—if Burt can get back in touch with what made him love magic in the first place.
