In "The Conjuring," opening in theaters on July 19th, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga play Ed and Lorraine Warren, the real-life ghost hunters, who were mostly known for investigating the Amityville house. However, this new 70s-set creepfest from James Wan (the director of Saw and Insidious) takes a look at another haunted house case, before Amityville Horror. It was the time when Ed and Lorraine examined a New England farmhouse, where a defenseless family (Lili Taylor and Ron Livingston) was mentally and physically terrorized by a string of unexplained paranormal activity. Yup, ghosts -- the hateful kind too! And it seems, they were lurking everywhere in the family's home.
Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, "The Conjuring" tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
The Conjuring stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Lili Taylor, Ron Livingston, Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Haley McFarland, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver, Sterling Jerins
