Iron Man Rules With An Iron Fist This Weekend At The Box Office

Disney's latest Marvel movie Iron Man 3 opened up with a huge estimated box office take of $175.3 million giving it the second highest movie opening in history with only Avengers making more.

Dropping to the number 2 spot this weekend is Mark Wahlberg and The Rock's "Pain & Gain" with an estimated take of $7.6 million.

Harrison Ford's "42" held at the number 3 spot with an estimated take of $6.2 million while Tom Cruises "Oblivion" dropped down to number 4 with an estimated take of $5.7 million.

Rounding out the Top 5 this weekend was Fox's animated feature "The Croods" which had an estimated take of $4.2 million.

The ten estimated top-producing motion pictures for the weekend, per data collected as of Sunday, May 5, 2013 include:

1. Iron Man 3: $175,300,000
2. Pain and Gain: $7,600,000
3. 42: $6,210,000
4. Oblivion: $5,797,000
5 The Croods: $4,225,000
6. The Big Wedding: $3,875,000
7. Mud: $2,150,000
8. Oz The Great and Powerful: $1,822,000
9. Scary Movie 5: $1,435,000
10. The Place Beyond the Pines: $1,298,000
