Man Of Steel Soars High At The Box Office

Warner Bros. latest attempt to relaunch the Superman franchise with "Man of Steel" seems to have paid off at the box office, pulling in an estimated take of $113 million for its opening weekend.

The new comedy "This is the End" starring James Franco, Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen opened at number two with an estimated take of $20.5 million, while the Jesse Eisenberg thriller "Now You See Me" held at number three for its third week with an estimated take of $20.5 million.

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker & The Rock continue to hold strong in "Fast & Furious 6" coming in at number four this week with an estimated take of $9.4 million, while last week's number one "The Purge" drops to number five this week with an estimated take of $8.2 million.

The ten estimated top-producing motion pictures for the weekend, per data collected as of Sunday, June 16, 2013 include:

1. Man Of Steel: $113,080,000
2. This is the End: $20,500,000
3. Now You See Me: $10,320,000
4. Fast & Furious 6: $9,433,000
5 The Purge: $8,201,000
6. The Internship: $7,000,000
7. Epic: $6,000,000
8. Star Trek Into Darkness: $5,660,000
9. After Earth: $3,750,000
10. Iron Man 3: $2,908,000
