After successfully jumping into live-action with last year's comedy hit "21 Jump Street," "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are giving animation another shot with the upcoming toy-based feature "The LEGO Movie."
In it, Chris Pratt voices a seemingly average LEGO construction figurine who reluctantly finds himself tossed into a risky mission where he must overthrow the wicked ruler of LEGO world. Although, he'll be receiving some welcomed help from various LEGO characters, including (but "not limited to") Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Mermaid, green ninja, 1980s something space guy and 2002 NBA all-stars -- just to name a few.
The first-ever, full-length theatrical LEGO adventure: The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet (Chris Pratt), an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.
The LEGO Movie stars the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie
