Oldboy - Red-Band Trailer

Reported by Outsiders - 04:14 PM 2013.07.10

Josh Brolin is out for revenge in the exciting debut trailer for "Oldboy." Directed by Spike Lee and adapted by "I Am Legend" scribe Mark Protosevich, the upcoming film is the English-language remake of South Korean filmmaker Chan-wook PARK's acclaimed 2003 thriller about a seemingly normal business man who is suddenly freed after spending many years in captivity under the sinister eye of an unknown assailant.

Tackling the role that was originally played by veteran Korean actor Min-sik CHOI, Brolin stars as Joe Doucett, an ad executive who inexplicably gets kidnapped, held against his will for decades and then, without warning, is cut loose (he's dumped on a grassy field while inside a large trunk). But then when Joe sets out to find the man responsible for his vile imprisonment, he soon discovers his freedom is simply the next level of a twisted mind game.

An advertising executive is kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his punishment, only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

Oldboy stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, Michael Imperioli, Samuel L. Jackson, Lance Reddick, Rami Malek, James Ransone

Release: October 25th, 2013
