Elysium - Extended Trailer
Reported by Outsiders - 10:33 AM 2013.07.30

With a week and a half away from opening in theaters, a slightly different, extended trailer has surfaced online for Neill Blomkamp's latest sci-fi action thriller "Elysium," starring Matt Damon as a desperate factory worker who's willing to risk everything for a slim chance of survival. This new extended trailer is similar to the previous full trailer, but with additional snippets from the film. For instance, there's a couple of new scenes, where Max De Costa (Damon) is learning more about his newly-rigged rifle, which carry specialized bullets that are used to destroy homeland defense droids assigned to keep him from entering Elysium.

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (JODIE FOSTER), a government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn't stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (MATT DAMON) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Elysium stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, William Fichtner, Diego Luna, Alice Braga, Sharlto Copley

Release: August 9th, 2013
