Disney Delays 'Pirates Of The Caribbean 5' Until 2016

Reported by Outsiders - 2013.09.10

Disney has decided to scratch their July 10th date off their calendar for the summer 2015 release date with Pirates Of The Caribbean 5, and the studio is now looking to slot it for summer 2016. The decision to push the movie back to 2016 was that it wasn't worth rushing the movie if the script wasn't done right. The script is being written by Jeff Nathanson and have done up an advanced outline for the studio and producer Jerry Bruckheimer. As for Johnny Depp, he is firmly committed to return to his Jack Sparrow role.

“Like audiences around the globe, we have high expectations for Jack Sparrow’s next adventure and we want to have all the right elements in place,” said Disney production president Sean Bailey. “We’re not there yet and we want to make sure this project is everything these wonderful characters and of course the fans deserve.”
