In Disney's upcoming animated musical fantasy "Frozen," the story kicks off when an enchanted kingdom called Arendelle is completely covered with eternal ice and snow. The newest trailer for the film offers some insight into the reason behind Arendelle's never-ending winter, revealing the backstory of the kingdom's former ruler, Elsa (voiced by Tony-winning Broadway singer/actress Idina Menzel; Wicked), who evidently possessed a hidden freezing power that eventually became too great for her to control.
However, much of the story deals with Elsa's younger sister, Anna (Kristen Bell), who is determined to save her people from the deadly freeze and help her misunderstood sister (who now lives in exile in a frozen mountain kingdom somewhere) to revert her icy powers. The new preview also reveals the connection between Elsa and Josh Gad's talking snowman character, Olaf, who might be the best thing to come out of the frosty weather.
In Frozen, Anna (voice of Kristen Bell), a fearless optimist, teams up with extreme mountain man Kristoff and his sidekick reindeer Sven in an epic journey, encountering mystical trolls, a funny snowman named Olaf, Everest-like extremes and magic at every turn in a race to find Anna’s sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), the Snow Queen, and save their kingdom from eternal winter.
Frozen stars the voices of Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, Idina Menzel
