An update on the Jamie Dornan replacing Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades Of Grey. According to Deadline via Variety that he and three other young actors tested opposite Dakota Johnson. Universal brought in Patrick Marber to do some rewriting on the Kelly Marcel-scripted adaptation of the EL James novel and Hunnam realized what he would have to do in the movie and decided to bail. Originally, the production wanted to get someone such as True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard, as he is someone who can bare all in front of the camera and be comfortable instead of running and hiding for cover as less experienced actors may do. Many within the production are thinking that there are genuine character moments that balance the sex, and they don’t need to be big stars because the book has sold so many copies around the world that it is the brand. So whoever plays the characters are in good hands for another three or four movies.
