Josh Brolin is a wounded convict who just escaped from a Massachusetts prison while Kate Winslet plays the emotionally-empty single mother who becomes his panic-stricken hostage -- well, sort of. In the first official trailer for their 1987-set fugitive drama "Labor Day" (a rare dramatic effort from "Juno" director Jason Reitman), the connection between captor and captive gets blurry and steamy.
Winslet's Adele is a severely-lonely woman who's running from her past while Brolin's Frank is a sweetly-menacing man who's running from the law. Add one sweltering Holiday weekend and sparks fly. Quietly observing this crazy-pants romance is Adele's 13-year-old son (played by Gattlin Griffith -- but narrated by Tobey Maguire), who might as well start saving up for years of therapy now.
Labor Day stars Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, Gattlin Griffith, Tobey Maguire, Clark Gregg, James Van Der Beek, Dylan Minnette, Brooke Smith, Lucas Hedges
