The filmmakers behind the new CG-animated comedy "The Nut Job," about a squirrel who tries to break into a nut supply store, have released a new 60-second trailer spoofing Peter Jackson's Hobbit sequel "The Desolation of Smaug."
Starring the voices of Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Gabriel Iglesias, Katherine Heigl and Liam Neeson, the new preview begins with fiery flames while a dragon-shaped shadow coils in the background. The reveal of the shadowy creature, obviously, turns out to be something more adorable than Smaug the dragon -- although he's probably just as capable of creating mayhem as the Middle-Earth beast.
Surly (Will Arnett), a curmudgeon, independent squirrel is banished from his park and forced to survive in the city. Lucky for him, he stumbles on the one thing that may be able to save his life, and the rest of park community, as they gear up for winter -- Maury's Nut Store.
The Nut Job stars the voices of Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Gabriel Iglesias, Katherine Heigl, Liam Neeson, Maya Rudolph, Stephen Lang, Sarah Gadon, Jeff Dunham
