300: Rise Of An Empire - 'Heroes Of 300' Featurette

Reported by Outsiders - 2014.03.03

"300: Rise of an Empire" is set to open this Friday, but you won't have to wait until then to get a nice jolt of adrenaline as a new pulse-pounding preview has been released online. This new action-crammed featurette centers on the "Heroes of 300," including Greek general Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton), who's facing a cruel adversary: the death-dealing Persian naval commander Artemisia (Eva Green) whose mighty armada is headed straight for the capital city of Athens. Meanwhile, the overly-confident Persian king Xerxes (played by returning Rodrigo Santoro) continues his war march after defeating King Leonidas' 300 Spartan army.

After its victory over Leonidas' 300, the Persian Army under the command of Xerxes marches south towards the major Greek city-states. The Democratic city of Athens, first on the path of Xerxes' army, bases its strength on its fleet, led by admiral Themistocles. Themistocles is forced to an unwilling alliance with the traditional rival of Athens, oligarchic Sparta whose might lies with its superior infantry troops. But Xerxes still reigns supreme in numbers over sea and land.

300: Rise Of An Empire stars Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, Lena Headey, David Wenham
