The Purge: Anarchy - Theatrical Trailer

Reported by Outsiders - 2014.03.28

Having your car break down in the middle of downtown is bad enough, but having it also break down on the night of "the purge" -- well, it's just plain murder! Check out the brand-new full-length trailer for "The Purge: Anarchy," writer-director James DeMonaco's eagerly-awaited sequel to his 2013 sleeper hit.

Still set in a not-too-distant future where American citizens are legally given an annual 12-hour "purge" to commit crimes and murders, this second installment stars Frank Grillo (next seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier), Zach Gilford (TV's Friday Night Lights) and Kiele Sanchez (TV's Lost). While little is known about the plot, from what we can tell the film is following several intersecting storylines, specifically a grieving father (Grillo) who's using the purge as a way to exact a Punisher-style revenge -- e.g. bulletproof armor, high-powered guns, all dress in black, etc. -- and a young couple (Gilford and Sanchez) trying to survive the night after their car suddenly clunks out.

The New Founders of America invite you to celebrate your annual right to Purge in THE PURGE: ANARCHY. Returning alongside writer/director/producer James DeMonaco to produce the sequel to 2013's sleeper hit are Blumhouse Productions' Jason Blum, alongside Sebastien K. Lemercier and Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form.
