Paul Feig To Helm 'Ghostbusters 3'; New Female Ghostbusters
Reported by Outsiders - 2014.08.02
According to source, the director of Bridesmaid and The Heat, Paul Feig is now the frontrunner to Ghostbusters 3 and he is showing interest on the project. No formal negotiations have taken place and a lot must be worked out before the casual discussions turn serious but he is the studio's first choice.
The third movie of the franchise originally had Ivan Reitman attached but he exited the project in March. Directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were in line for the job but those reports turned out to be false rumors. The script has been revised since the death of original castmember Harold Ramis with the original script was by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. The story introduces female Ghostbusters who are handed the baton from at least a couple of the originals. Dan Aykroyd has said he will return but Bill Murray has not committed.
