90's Flash, John Wesley Shipp Joins The Cast Of CW's New Flash TV Series

Reported by Jay Cochran - 2014.02.11

THR reports that actor John Wesley Shipp who played the DC Comics speedster in the 1990's The Flash television series will be joining the cast of CW's new Flash series. Shipp is set to appear in the pilot episode as a "mysterious" character and if the show is picked up by the network for a full season run, his role will be expanded. Grant Gustin plays the role of Barry Allen/The Flash in this new series, which spun out of CW's current Arrow television series. The Barry Allen character first appeared in a 2-episode story arc this season on Arrow for the winter finale. The last we saw Allen, he was left in a coma after a mysterious explosion occurred in his Central City lab.

Shipp's Flash series ran for 22 episodes on CBS back in 1990-91.
