FX's The Strain - Featurette: 'The Director's Vision' And 'Season Preview'

With the premiere of FX's new vampire series "The Strain" earning strong ratings this past weekend, FX now unveils a new behind-the-scenes featurette that focuses on the pilot episode and its co-creator, writer, and director of the series, Guillermo del Toro. The series stars Corey Stoll (House of Cards) as a CDC investigator who is about to discover a strain of an uncontrollable virus that preys on the blood of its victims and can sometimes alter them into the walking dead.

The pilot episode of "The Strain," directed by Guillermo del Toro and titled "Night Zero" is now available on iTunes and Amazon instant video. The second episode is scheduled to air on Sunday, July 20th at 10pm on the FX Network.

A thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.
