Heath Ledger won an Academy Award for Actor in a Supporting Role for his protrayal of the Joker, a psychopathic criminal willing to do anything in his quest to humiliate and defeat Batman in DARK KNIGHT. Ledger dies shortly after completing the film, making his last performance one of his most memorable. This was Ledger's second Oscar nomination. The first was for Brokeback Mountain (2005) for Actor in a Leading Role.
