James Cameron's "Avatar" Now Breaking Records With DVD & Blu-ray Sales

It is being reported that, 20th Century Fox's AVATAR which has took in $2.7 billion globally at the box office is now breaking records with DVD and Blu-ray sales. As of today the movie has sold 6.7 million copies in the last 4 days here in the United States. 2.7 million of those copies were Blu-ray setting a new record previously held by Warner Bros. "The Dark Knight" which sold 2.5 million Blu-ray copies in a 18 months time-span.

"Avatar" was released on DVD and Blu-ray this past Thursday, as opposed to a normal Tuesday release to correspond with Earth Day which is a move that seems to have paid off for the stuido as the movie managed to sell 1.5 million Blu-ray copies on its opening day.

Worldwide "Avatar" has sold 6.7 million DVD & Blu-ray copies in the last four days.
