This was an excellent and well put together movie! It had action, drama, cool effects, and good story line. I relived watching the old cartoon with this movie!

I'm so very much a part of maroon5gurl88's camp on this one I could be elected Scoutmaster. I was a bit lost if they were setting out to only parody musical biopic films, or bad films altogether, but whatever the intention, they seemed to have become a really unpleasant version of both those things.
The really talented cast seemed all but wasted. And I've seen these folks in numerous other things on the big and little screen, and know they can deliver funny material and make it work... which leads me to believe they were sent to a gunfight without any bullets. Great and all for the other guy, but throwing the gun is a one-opportunity weapon (and each of the characters probably got one chuckle out of me... well, except for Jonah Hill as the ghostly brother; he seemed too cruel a la his "Superbad" role, and didn't bother to change his game face for this film).
With a glut of films out to make it in time for Oscar nomination consideration, spare yourself the $10, 90 minutes lost, and countless time checks to see how close you are to the credits.

i loved this movie!!!!
i agree that they are some cheesy actors (anthony anderson & john torturro)....
however, nothing can ever compare to the action packed alien robotic action sequences and transformations...
i feel that everything in this movie fell at exactly the right time, action and cheesy somedy alike... and the characters made each action sequence more powerful and emotional towards the audience..
the appeaances autobots and the decepticons are a little different from the cartoon shows, but not in a bad way... they were truly sights to behold
nothing will ever beat the way that most of the fighting between robots started with a transformation halfway in mid-air completely grasping the special effects theme and ooing the audience at the same time...
however i feel that they could've dealt a little bit more into the back-history of the aliens, it could've created a more intense emotional bond witht the audience...
i look forward to anything else that this franchise has to offer...

I just got a chance to watch the 1957 [original] "3:10 to Yuma" after the nice folks at Netflix delivered it to my mail box. I was pretty impressed that the storyline was kept very much intact -- not always something you find in remakes -- though the level of shooting and blood was tempered a bit more for 50s audiences.
Both versions are enjoyable, though for different reasons. In the 50s, we had a more traditional Hollywood ending, though in terms of plausibility, I think the remake is more true to life... but in the era when we didn't want to show a woman without her pearls on or having to go to work, it's to be expected.
The dynamics between Crowe and Bale were very much on-key with those of the original Ben and Dan, so a kudos to the casting folks as well.

The movie was spectacular - the first show I arrived 30 minutes early and it was SOLD OUT! I waited about an hour in a half to see the next showing, which sold out an hour before the movie started! The special effects were incredible - There are many great actors in the movie. I really dont know what to say - this is my new favorite movie. I even got my girlfriend to go (which is quite shocking if you knew her) and she LOVED it!!

If anybody has read my review of Evan Almight from April then you obviously know how I feel. In a nutshell the film has virtually no humor and if almost like a Bible retelling of "The Santa Clause."

Again, needs a "Maybe" recommendation option. If you liked the first Hostel, you'll be pleased -- presuming you're looking for the gore effect. The plot itself isn't groundbreaking -- take the "Hostel" plot, and swap out the male characters in the first film with females in this one, but turn the two backpackers into three train-travelers.
I will agree the ending did introduce a new element, which I'll let you find elsewhere, but that was about where the paths of "Hostel" and "Hostel: Part II" split... and that was 10 minutes from the end.

Waitress is fraught with cuteness all around. The quirks of Jenna (Keri Russell) and how she copes with the variety of people and problems is reasonably entertaining. The ending wasn't as strong as I had hoped for, in the sense it felt rushed to wrap up all the loose ends in the last 15 minutes or so (the baby's born, Jenna deals with her abusive husband, and we then manage to fast-forward several years to when the baby is a little girl). All in all well worth the time and money, and Keri Russell is delightful as always.
