James Bond: Quantum Of Solace

Reviewed by Jay - Fri November 14, 2008

It seems like regardless of who is playing James Bond, it's hit or miss on whether you will have a good movie. Craig's first outing as James Bond was very good, but I'm afraid for his second take is a bit lacking. Starting with the opening scene, this movie suffers from an overabundance of fast-paced action scenes and not enough character and plot development. If you are new to James Bond and you missed the last movie, then good luck following anything that hsppening in this one.

The movie isn't all bad though. Daniel Craig has some shining moments like the scene where he flushes out the members of the Quantum at the Opera, and there are some nice tributes to older Bond movies like "Goldfinger". You know what they say about oil, it's black gold.

Also, the underlying build-up of the secret organization is very reminceant to "Spectre" and leaves you wanting to find out more in the next film. All I can say is, if they actually bring back the villian of Ernst Stavro Blofeld, I think it would really be cool if they got Sean Connery to come back and play him as the ultimate Bond villian.
