Need For Speed Undercover is the latest installment from the Need For Speed series from Electronic Arts for the PS3, XBox 360 and PC and this time around, the game has gotten a major revision.
Need For Speed Undercover plays like the rest of the Need For Speed games where you can drive a variety of cars from America, Europe or Japan but gives you the freedom of taking the world by storm.
The main purpose of the game takes you into the illegal, underground racing circuit of racing cars for pinkslips, money or anything else you can put up on the table. As you work undercover with different racing gangs, you must prove yourself worthy to each gang for props and respect. This includes racing in sprint races, checkpoint races, highway battles and rematches against defeated opponents. As your respect grows so does the challenges of escaping cops, destroying city property and making a bigger name for yourself. Once you get in good with the gangs, your orders will change and you will be told to take the gang down and you must make it look like a clean bust. This will show others gangs that you are too clever for the Police and know what you are doing and they will call upon your services. The Police in the game do start off slow and mainly look at you as if they are giving you a warning but over time of you out running them and destroying the city. They will start looking at busting you and having you do some major time in a cell.
The game overall allows you to mainly do anything and go anywhere and the graphics of the different cities and lights make the game feel as realistic as possible. The only downfall I would say about the game is some of the characters can be annoying when you are doing missions and even some of the missions seem too far impossible. I noticed a lot of times when I am just barely beating a mission and out of no where a civilian car will change lanes and make me wipe out. It felt like the civilian cars tried to take me out more than the Police at times.
I enjoyed the game and I felt it gave a lot to offer with the huge arrange of cars to purchase and win and all the different effects you can do to the cars. Some of the missions will make you want to throw the controller or in my case, my mouse and keyboard through my monitor but if you are into high speed racing games and a decent storyline than this game is for you.
