Middleman fever is sweeping the nation as The Middleman: The Third Volume Inescapability , the latest installment of the Viper Comics series, is set to hit stores on Halloween! The release coincides with ABC Family's production of a TV pilot based on the graphic novel series created by award-winning writer/producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach ( Lost, Medium) and illustrated by Eisner Award-nominee Les McClaine ( Johnny Crossbones ). Needless to say, it's a good time to be The Middleman and Wendy.
In addition to writing The Middleman: The Third Volume Inescapability , Grillo-Marxuach serves double duty as writer and Executive Producer of the ABC Family pilot, which stars Matt Keeslar ( Art School Confidential, Scream 3) as the title character, Natalie Morales ( CSI: Miami) as Wendy, and Mary Pat Gleason ( I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry ), in the role of Ida, the robotic gatekeeper and veteran assistant to The Middleman.
"This is a very exciting time for Viper Comics because while we have many properties in different stages of Hollywood development, this is the first to take the big leap," states Viper Comics President Jessie Garza. "We are thrilled to be publishing a third installment in the Middleman saga just as the property takes its first steps into the world of television."
With two volumes already hailed by critics and fans and listed among 2007's "Great Graphic Novels For Teens," by the American Library Association, The Middleman's adventures continue in The Third Volume Inescapability . Illustrated by McClaine once again, the third installment promises dashing adventure, amazing revelations and a shocking finale that will change everything in the world of The Middleman!
The Middleman: The Third Volume Inescapability hits stores on October 31, 2007.
