Cloud Atlas - 'Multitude Of Drops' 6-Minute Featurette

Reported by Outsiders - 2012.10.14

The upcoming sci-fi epic "Cloud Atlas" could be sum up in a few words: a wildly, ambitious spectacle. However, if you're having a hard time wrapping your head around its Russian doll-like story structure, well this might help to clear a few things. Here's a fantastic six-minute featurette that attempts to explain the film's six multi-layered storylines.

While the story features a group of evolving characters connected in a labyrinth of time and space, we learn from the clip that it's best to keep in mind the movie is simply one "gigantic roller-coaster" ride. And, yeah okay, it has Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, among others, dressed in a boatload of funky-looking getups. But we consider that as a giant check mark in the win column.

"Cloud Atlas" explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.

Cloud Atlas stars Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D’Arcy, Xun Zhou, Keith David, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant

Release: October 26th, 2012
